2014 NCLEES Conference
The IAPOA and the Boston Police Emerald Society are honored to be hosting the Fall Conference of the National Conference of Law Enforcement Emerald Societies (NCLEES) from September 24 to 28, 2014. The Conference and Host Hotel will be the Back Bay Hilton Hotel, 40 Dalton St., Boston. Delegates from Emerald Societies across the US and England will be attending the Conference which was last held in Boston in 1999. The events noted below will be open to (IAPOA) members for an opportunity to socialize with our many colleagues who will travel here. Additional information is available on the Conference website at, the (IAPOA) web-site at, or by calling us at (617) 484-8316. Advance notice of members attending any of the events will be helpful. The events open to (IAPOA) members which we encourage you to attend are:
Thursday 9/25: 7:00 – 9:00 PM – “Meet & Greet” with our arriving guests at the “40 Dalton” lounge at the Back Bay Hilton, 40 Dalton St., Boston, followed by a visit to some establishments in walking distance to the hotel.
Friday 9/26: 4:00 to 7:00 PM: Doyle's Cafe and Sam Adams Tour: Buses will depart the hotel starting around 3:00 PM for Doyle's Café, 3484 Washington Street, Jamaica Plain. For those who sign up and want to attend, the Sam Adams Shuttle will provide transportation to the Sam Adams Brewery for a tour. Buses will then transport attendees to the Boston Police Emerald Society for a “Pub Night”.
Friday 9/26: 7:00 to 11:00 PM: Pub Night at the Boston Police Emerald Society Hall, “Garda Pub”, at 10 Birch Street, Roslindale. The “Guinness Girls” will be here and will give away personalized etched pint glasses. Also, entertainment will be provided by (IAPOA) founders Kevin Shea and Steve Lyons and their band “Irish Whispa” as well as the “Fenian Sons”.
Saturday 9/27: 4:00 PM  - “Pub Crawl”: A “Pub Crawl” will begin at 4:00 PM at the Hard Rock Café, 22-24 Clinton St., Boston, and the IAPOA Pipe and Drum Band will perform. Our pipers will then lead the “Pub Crawl” to several establishments in the Faneuil Hall area. Because some of the pubs on the tour are fairly small, we may start in two or three groups to make sure everyone can get in all of the pubs. The pubs that will be visited in addition to the Hard Rock will be the “Green Dragon”, “Hennessey’s”, “Paddy O’s”, “Ned Divine’s”, and will end at “The Black Rose”.
Sunday 9/28: Boston Red Sox v NY Yankees: This game is still scheduled for a 1:35 PM start but may be changed to an 8:00 PM start. We were able to secure (100) tickets for the event in one of the fan zone areas many months ago and hoped to obtain more. However, tickets are very scarce with Derek Jeter’s last game and we agreed to first offer the tickets to our visiting guests to give them an opportunity to see Fenway Park. We will make all attempts to get any (IAPOA) members admission to the game, but we cannot make any specific assurances given the ticket demand. If this is a day game, we will retire somewhere to watch some NFL football later in the day.

Note: (IAPOA) merchandise will be sold at most events, and we encourage you to show off your (IAPOA) pride!

The event you have been waiting for is right around the corner!. Join the IAPOA and our brothers and sisters from the Emerald Society of Boston P.D., as we host the 2014 NCLEES Confrence. Get details on
